4 JanBidsketch Review

Well hello there. This post is all business… in the best way. I’d like to tell you about a really great service that I just started using to create my design proposals. It’s called Bidsketch. I first discovered Bidsketch when a web developer that I work with sent me a proposal to review. I was so impressed that within a day, I was creating Bidsketch proposals for my business.

Bidsketch has helped me solve a few problems. With a little homework, my proposal now also serves as my contract. I can obtain my client’s signature online which is easy for everyone. There’s no printing and mailing of contracts… no waiting for the good ol’ postal service day after day. Bidsketch also saves me a lot of time. Since I do a lot of the same type of work, I can keep working off of the same template. It’s easy to save sections, add new sections, or just make slight changes to existing proposals.

The best part about Bidsketch is that it seems to seal the deal. Clients have been very responsive to my new, more profesional proposals.

If you’re a freelance designer, I highly recommend this proposal software. If nothing else, you should check out the Bidsketch blog which is full of really helpful information.

So there you have it. A hot little business tip from yours truly.

2 JanStudio NT Pilates Logo

If you’re like lots of people, you might have made a New Year’s resolution that included something fitness related. I’m guilty, as usual. In fact, I just got home after re-upping my family’s YMCA membership. So I thought it would be very fitting to post a new logo design that I just created for Studio NT. It’s a home-based pilates studio located in Cincinnati. Nancy, the owner, is just about as nice as clients get and was great to work with. Well, when you mix nice clients and nice designers, you get awesome logos. Check it out! And if you’re up for some Classical Pilates Instruction, may I be the first to recommend Studio NT!

6 DecClever and Witty Holiday Gift Tags

I want to believe you are the kind of person for which “to” and “from” just isn’t acceptable when it comes to your gift tags. I also want to believe that you are the kind of person who is taking advantage of lots of creative people plugging away making some freebie products for you. I want to believe that you understand and “get” my quirky sense of humor. OMG… You are that person?! Fabulous!! Then by all means, download my super adorable, designery and fun printable gift tags! You deserve it. Delight your gift recipients this year! What can you do for me in return? Nothing. What, you insist? Okay how about liking my Facebook page? Follow me on Twitter? Done and done.

Download your free tags here!
Just load your printer with card stock and send the file to print! Next, use a paper cutter, blade or scissors to trim out the tags. Either tape them to your presents or punch a hole and tie with ribbon. Have fun and enjoy!

There’s something magical about photographs taken by professionals. You know what I’m talking about… those larger than life effects… bright colors, glistening eyes, lens flares from heaven and perfect skin. Each photo is better than the next. Well, here’s a little inside info. All of those photos have been edited. And, I just so happen to be a HUGE fan of this process. It’s absolutely addicting to make a great photo even better. Here are just a couple of examples:

Cormier Creative is proud to offer photo editing services! Maybe you have a great shot of your kids for a holiday card that needs some sprucing up or there’s a special photo you’d like to have framed or enlarged. Send over a high resolution image and I’ll send it back a little more awesome than I got it.

22 OctSurprise Party Invitation

I will always believe that the party starts when the invitation is sent. It’s the invitation that sets the tone for the entire event. Yeah yeah, you’ve heard that before. But, it’s SO TRUE. In this case, the invitation was the driving force behind all of the party details. I worked with my client, Sue, to come up with a really fun concept—one that was really personal. We played up Joe’s obsession with cannons and his silliness. The result? Right here:

Sue heard nothing but rave reviews about this invitation before the party and it was definitely hard to keep it a secret! The fun buzz that was created was brought to the party. (I know because I got to attend!) Not only did this invite serve the purpose of providing party details, but it’s such a keepsake for Joe! Ka-boom!

10 SepHappy Branding

I don’t have anything super wordy to say about the advice I want to share today. People like happy people. People like happy brands. Whether your job is filing taxes or owning a candy store, at the end of the day your goal is the same: to make your client happy. With a polished, designed look, your clients will assume you’re pretty good at that. Does your logo need a happy make-over? I’ve got just the gal for you! Me!
